Nullscape

by Stardust Labs

Reimagines the End dimension with new biomes, terrain, and atmosphere. Part of the Stardust Labs suite alongside Terralith and Incendium.

Overview

Nullscape reworks the End into a sprawling, atmospheric frontier, replacing the empty outer islands with new biomes, reshaped terrain, and fresh structures. Stardust Labs rewrites the End's noise generation so the void between islands gives way to varied landscapes that still orbit the central dragon island. Designed as the third pillar of its dimension suite, it deliberately keeps the main island and the dragon fight intact while transforming everything beyond the gateway. The effect is a much lonelier, more alien End that rewards deep exploration.

It is aimed at endgame players and servers who want the post-dragon End to be worth exploring in depth. It comes from Stardust Labs, sits in the World Generation category, and is rated a moderate pack to run. Everything happens through vanilla data pack functions, so no mod loader such as Fabric or Forge is required to use it on Minecraft 1.20 through 1.21.4.

Features

How It Works

Under the hood, Nullscape relies on plain data pack mechanics rather than any client mod. Here is what happens in-game once it is loaded:

  1. 1End terrain is regenerated via custom noise settings so outer islands form continuous landscapes.
  2. 2New End biomes are placed through biome-source JSON tuned for the dimension's low light.
  3. 3Custom structures spawn on the outer islands using structure-set placement rules.
  4. 4The central island and dragon arena are left on vanilla generation so the fight is unchanged.

Compatibility

Designed to pair with Terralith and Incendium.

  • Built to pair with Terralith and Incendium as part of the Stardust Labs dimension suite.
  • May conflict with other packs that rewrite End worldgen or the End biome source.
  • Compatible with Overworld and Nether packs since its changes are confined to the End.

Nullscape is a pure data pack and does not ship a resource pack, so it changes server-side behaviour without altering textures, models or sounds on the client.

How to Install

Nullscape installs as a standard Java Edition data pack and runs on both singleplayer worlds and multiplayer servers. Recent 1.21 releases bumped the data pack format, so keep the pack's pack.mcmeta in step with your server version.

  1. 1.Download the Nullscape pack as a .zip and keep it zipped.
  2. 2.Open the target world folder — a singleplayer save under .minecraft/saves, or the world folder on your server.
  3. 3.Drop the .zip into that world's datapacks folder, creating the folder if it does not exist.
  4. 4.Load the world (or run /reload if it is already open) and run /datapack list to confirm it is enabled.

The pack is built for Minecraft 1.20 through 1.21.4, so it loads on vanilla Java without Fabric, Forge or any other mod loader. Being an End worldgen pack, install it before reaching the outer End; only freshly generated End chunks past the central island will show its terrain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Minecraft versions support Nullscape?

It runs on Java Edition 1.20 through 1.21.4, including the 1.20.1 and 1.20.4 releases.

Does Nullscape require any mods?

No. It is a vanilla data pack of End worldgen JSON and needs no Fabric, Forge, or other loader.

Does Nullscape change the Ender Dragon fight?

No. It leaves the central island and dragon arena on vanilla generation, so the fight plays as normal.

Will Nullscape work with my current End?

Its terrain only generates in End chunks you have not yet loaded, so explored islands remain vanilla.

Can I use Nullscape together with Terralith and Incendium?

Yes. The three are designed to coexist because each overhauls a separate dimension.
