Unlock All Recipes
by Vanilla Tweaks
Automatically unlocks all crafting recipes in the recipe book when joining the world. No manual unlocking required.
Overview
Unlock All Recipes clears out the recipe-book unlock grind by granting every vanilla crafting recipe the moment a player joins the world. Instead of discovering recipes one ingredient at a time, players open a fully populated recipe book from the start, including recipes they have not yet gathered materials for. It applies to brand-new players and to anyone already on an existing world. The convenience makes the recipe book a complete reference rather than a slow unlock chase.
Handy for creative builders, server hubs, and players who treat the recipe book as a lookup tool and dislike unlocking recipes gradually. It comes from Vanilla Tweaks, sits in the Quality of Life category, and is rated a simple, drop-in pack to run. Everything happens through vanilla data pack functions, so no mod loader such as Fabric or Forge is required to use it on Minecraft 1.20 through 1.21.4.
Features
- All recipes unlocked on join
- Works for new and existing players
- Includes all vanilla recipes
How It Works
Under the hood, Unlock All Recipes relies on plain data pack mechanics rather than any client mod. Here is what happens in-game once it is loaded:
- 1Runs a recipe-grant on player join to add every vanilla recipe to the book
- 2Covers existing players too, so already-joined accounts receive the full unlock
- 3Populates recipes regardless of whether the player has obtained the ingredients yet
- 4Touches only recipe-book visibility, leaving actual crafting and item costs unchanged
Supported Versions
Compatibility
Compatible with all data packs.
- Pairs well with packs that add new recipes, though only listed vanilla recipes are granted
- Generally compatible with other data packs since it only edits the recipe book
- Overlaps harmlessly with recipe-revealing tweaks like Craftable Bundles
Unlock All Recipes is a pure data pack and does not ship a resource pack, so it changes server-side behaviour without altering textures, models or sounds on the client.

How to Install
Unlock All Recipes installs as a standard Java Edition data pack and runs on both singleplayer worlds and multiplayer servers. Recent 1.21 releases bumped the data pack format, so keep the pack's pack.mcmeta in step with your server version.
- 1.Download the Unlock All Recipes pack as a .zip and keep it zipped.
- 2.Open the target world folder — a singleplayer save under .minecraft/saves, or the world folder on your server.
- 3.Drop the .zip into that world's datapacks folder, creating the folder if it does not exist.
- 4.Load the world (or run /reload if it is already open) and run /datapack list to confirm it is enabled.
The pack is built for Minecraft 1.20 through 1.21.4, so it loads on vanilla Java without Fabric, Forge or any other mod loader. Add it to the datapacks folder; recipes unlock automatically the next time each player joins after the pack is enabled.
